the train came to a sudden stop. >> just stopped. and the car i'm on just starts filling up with smoke. >> she says almost immediately she and other passengers were overcome by fumes she told us there was a lot of confusion the operator tried to direct those who needed medical attention. then arcs cording to some, minutes later the same operator then directed them to the opposite side. some passengers later echoed those claims. >> we weren't being communicated with. so we kind of freaked out over that. >> one woman had to be helped by other passengers. adams was one of nine bart riders put in an ambulance and taken to the hospital. all had difficulty breathing. >> any symptom can be triggered

by stress. >> the oakland fire battalion chief says it was probably brake dust in the air affecting some of the riders. >> oakland fire was able to determine there was no smoke no, fire. >> adams was released this afternoon. still upset that while inside of the tunnel, bart failed to reassure passengers. >> we never were giving a plan on what was the next move. and that just caused more anxiety for me and other passengers because what is the plan? >> adams says it will be sometime before she gets back on a bart train. >> passengers were frustrated this, is sky seven video of the scene this morning. dozens stuck on the train breathing smoke. many panicked. one woman told us they had to skak a xanax to try to keep calm. once the train stopped, there was nowhere to

emergency. >> we have new details about the shooting death of a college student over a gam console the arraignment for ronnie collins postponed until monday. collins charged in the murder of a 22-year-old. in the bay view district sunday. prosecutors say the victim's girlfriend sold her play station four on instagram. the buyer brandish aid weapon. collins charged two counts after tempted robbery. being held on $5 million bail. >> the man charged with killing a federal agent and wounding three others at lax made his first court appearance today the 23-year-old paul ciancia seen with bruises on his face will be held without bond. investigators say ciancia was carrying out a vendetta against the government. if conducted ciancia could face the death

penalty. >> the search in the snowy idaho wilderness for a pilot and family just ended for the day. the plane has not been found. silicon valley executive dale smith was piloting the beach bonanza six seater. on board his son, daughter and her fiancee. smith's business partner says if anyone can survive, he can. >> he has done boy scout stuff with troops and children. that type of stuff. yes. i think he's one that could survive this. yes. >> about 60 people were searching today conditions deteriorating. overnight, temperatures dropped to 0 degrees. so it's extreme. command staff will meet to decide status of the search tomorrow, where they will go from here. >> activists protested against a plan to bring more crude oil by train. the demonstrators say the

glass window. >> two men coming back from a brunch also jumped in to action. eric used a knife to break a window. andrew helped victims at shore. today, all three received california emergency medical services awards. and beyond honor, they have a family forever grateful.. >> i said i'm going to die now. that is what i thought of myself. i thought let me go and go to my kids. i just hug for the last time. >> she and her children now considered the good samaritans extended family. and thanks include paramedic rebecca foster who pulled them from the car just before it went under. she received a medal today. >> really thank you for them, saving my life, my family's l e lives. >> bystanders willing to risk

so cold air is over us, we're expecting it to get colder tonight. now we're going turn our attention to this disturbance. that low is going to drag with it some cold rain. it's fine. by 9:00 a.m rain beginning to develop in the north bay. snow around lake county areas not out of the question. 6:00 p.m soggy get away and evening commute friday. and into saturday as low as 1,000 feet. so our local peaks may see a dusting of snow. so most of the weekend is fine. sierra nevada winter storm watch friday afternoon to saturday afternoon. it's not going to be higher passes impacted we're talking about lower locations as well.
